today i've kinda been chilling on the computer more-i finished my book this morning. I'm also blowing my nose a ton, and trying not to cough

thats pretty much all i've been doing....flu-ness is annoying!

CVS on Sunday

hi!
i was gonna write about yesterday and today on one post, but i decided not to
so this is my post about today.

it was a very nice day. In the morning i had Midrasha(the jewish sunday school) which was nice. Me and Safara and Shira chatted for a bit, and some of our other friends joked around too. I guess they're mostly my other friends, since Safara sand Shira stick together really tight and don't make that many other friends. I guess i'm special in that way

After Midrasha I went to get my picture taken at CVS. Thats because i need to renew my passport because we're going to brazil in march. I definitely want to be able to do that!

After that I came home and ate some soup. Then me, Itai, and my dad went to get haircuts and to target. It was fun. I got 2 new shirts, and a new bikini top to go with my black bottom. My old bikini top is really faded from all the time i spent on the beach in israel.

when we got home i did some math, and ate some more soup. Then i helped my brother build his new lego sets, and now i'm writing on my blog

Beauty and the Beast

hi!
right now I'll tell you about yesterday's play performance.
The play was really good. Me and my friend Dolly were going to see it together. We originally planned it that way because our arents were gonna meet and discuss high schools over dinner. Then we would leave, and they would say their opinions about high schoosl(because Dolly's parents don't want their darling little girl to be influenced by there opinions[that should be read aloud in a mincing sort of nasal voice] )
But then her parents cancled, and said that they would come to see the play with us. So we ended up not going together, just meeting each other there.
When i got there, I saw my other friend Junie B. She stood up and waved me over, so me and Itai sat next to her. Then Dolly came to sit next to us.

The play was really good. It was Beauty and the Beast, and I knew almost everyone there. Theatre people always seem to know each other. The guy who played beast was in a summer theatre camp with Itai, and, in Itai's words:

"Beast he may be, but prince charming he is certainly not!" it was hilarious. So after the play Dolly left very quickly. Her mom rushed her home, because she always has to go to bed at 9.

So me and Junie B. kind of followed our friend who was in the play(Tomica) around helping with random stuff. Then we all decided that we'd have a sleepover at Junia B.'s house. However, Tomica also wanted to go to ice cream with all her friends from the play. So her mom took her to ice cream while me and Junie and Junie's little sis dropped Itai off at home.

After that me and Junie B. went to ice cream. It was nice, although the ice cream was gross and fatty.

Everybody was leaving, and Junie's mom wasn't there at all. Me, Junie and Tomica chilled in one girl from her play's car with a few other people, along with the guy who played Beast. I'm actually gonna be starting at their theatre place on monday-so i guess it'll be fun, and I'll be in the next play.

So anyways: Junie started freaking out and crying and calling her mom a million times because she felt really bad that she made people wait for her. By the time her mom got there, they were so annoyed with each other that her mom decided to punish Junia and take me and Tomica home.

so that was about the play yesterday

Sleepy Saturday

hi!

I wasn't even sure if i wanted to post today-i've been super lazy all day, and the blog seemed like tons of work(not really...well kind of)

I didn't do anything today. I slept in, daydreamed, and watched tv pretty much all day. I did do some research on the story i'm writing for creative writing class

i'm going to see a play with my friend at 7 :) it's gonna be fun. It's a theatre company that I'm gonna be part of thois semester. I start next monday

my friend is also in this company, and she's pretty cool. They're doing Beauty and the Beast, and she's a feather duster. I wanted her to audition for Belle, but she didn't

yep

I might start a question of the day thing. I got inspired by this blog i saw: http://www.sourpatc.blogspot.com/

so the question of the day is what's your favorite thing to do on saturday?

Fascinating Friday

hi!

today was fun. I did really do that much school, but thats normal for fridays. We always go somewhere(tilden, museums) and today we went over to one of my teamates(science olympiad) house.

she lives in lafayette, so it was a pretty long drive. We drove for a while, and got there right on time, at 11 in the morning

they were just finishing breakfast, which i though was wierd. Me and her are doing an event on forensic science together. It's called crime busters, and is pretty cool. Her name is Corina, by the way

so me and corina sat down with my mom to try and figure out how to be more efficient. We talked to her for a while, while Corina's mom(whose name is Arina-weird, right?) set up the actual exam

my mom then went with Corina's two little brothers to figure out the crime. The entire thing resulted in this motley thing which didn't really make a lot of sense. We figured it out though, and it was pretty fun

we also had to identify 10 different powders, which we did alright on. At the end, we mixed all the powders together with the liquids we were identifying, and it resulted in a deliciously unscientific reaction. It was fun

we got home at about 3. I ate a sandwich, did some math, and played the piano for a bit. Then i had a piano lesson, which i got back from at about 5:17. Then I played on my tablet for a while(while my parents talked on the couch, and my dog slept in the small of my stomach [can you say that? small of your stomach?] )

and now i'm posting on my blog. We're gonna go eat sushi pretty soon, but my brother and I get some screen time first.

in case anyone is wondering, I named this post "fascinating" friday because i wanted a synonym for chemistry that started with an f. I looked it up in the thesaurus. It's the wrong kind of chemistry, but oh well.

Busy Day

hi!
today was thursday, and a very busy day. I always have bust days on thursday, and it's the one day when I;m out of the house all day

I woke up at about 8 in the morning, and got out of bed a quarter of an hour later. I ate breakfast, drank juice, and then left for Quantum Camp.

Quantum Camp is this science thing that I do. It's amazing in the way that it is made up of more smart kids than dumb ones.

there are some cute guys there too, which is good(although only one cute guy in my class of 12)

Quantum Camp was over at 12, and I met my mom for lunch at this place called Venus, in Downtown Berkeley. It's this really trndy place, with a lot of good food. I do think that they put too much mustard in their sandwiches.

After lunch I went over to Berkwood Hedge. It was fun, although the kindergaretners were unruly today. At the end of the day, their teacher thanked me for coming, and said that she totally wouldn't be able to mannage on her own

After BH i had choir. It was awesome. I did get some bad news, because it turns out that my choir annual weekend away is on march 22-24, which is during the time my family's gonna be in brazil.

I did have fun, though, although the guy that I kinda like at choir wasn't there today. I bet he was sick, since he's really devoted

I'll talk more next time!

Sayings and Speeches

hi!
sorry i didn't post yesterday-I just didn't really feel like it. I stayed up a bit watching tv, and I really didn't feel like posting on my blog

I'll tell you a bit about my day today. I was supposed to have computer science with my dad this morning, but he had a conference call so we didn't. Then at 10 I had public speaking class, which is with this group of homeschoolers. It is held in the home of one of the families, which is in Danville. We had to drive the hour there, and to top that off my mom couldn't remember their address so she had to have my dad look it up while she was driving. My dad, of course, made a complete mess of her emails, and didn't find it at all. After we dropped him off at the bart station though, my mom found it in a sec. We drove there, and had public speaking. It was fun. We were doing a class on sayings this month. Each person picked a saying, and had to do a quick extemporaneous speech on that saying. It was nice. We had two rounds, and I think i did OK. Itai kind of freaked out and didn't do that great, but other than that everyone was really good

one funny thing happened there. This boy Noah(whose house it was at) had the saying "you reap what you sow". He said that the perfect example for this would be the children's book "the little red hen"
no I'd never read that book until monday, when I read it with some of the kindergartners. Then Noah mentioned it in a speech-I'd call that strange. It feels kind of like the universe was making sure that I'd have the context for the speech.

After Public speaking class we went home. We had a meeting with our charter school teacher, which was cool. She brought her 4 year old son, who is super cute. She took some samples of our work, and did assessments on me and Itai. She said that I scored the highest she'd ever seen in reading comprehension-which I think might actually be true since it's always my best subject on standardized tests. On the SSAT(which I just took secondary school assessment test) I scored in the 98th percentile for reading comprehension.  I'm pretty proud of myself, because all my other subjects were almost as good.

The meeting took about an hour and a half, and now I'm blogging about my day-after having played some pocket frogs and talked to this guy who is coming to check out the plumbing at my house. Yeah.

A Normal Monday

hi there!
today has been a pretty normal monday for me..obviously that's why i titled my post "a very normal monday"
 i'll tell you about it.

so this morning I woke up at * in the morning. I ate breakfast, took the dog out, and began to do school at 8:30. I did science for an hour, and american history for an hour and a half. I learn both of these things pretty much on my own, so that was cool.

I finished at 11:00. Then my dad and I ate lunch together(at home) and he drove me over to Berkwood Hedge school

the reason he was driving me there for is because I volunteer there. I come for three hours on monday, and 2 on thursday. I volunteer with their class of kindergartners, who are adorable. On mondays, I also help out with "open art" something the school has during lunch(12-1) on omndays, wednesdays, and fridays. I only help on mondays. I work with my old art teacher in open art, and with my old kindergarten teacher with the kids. I went to Berkwood Hedge, and although they got a new principal, it's still pretty much the same.

Berkwood hedge was amazing, as susaly. The kindergartners always lift my spirits, even if i'm having a horrible day. :)

After Berkwood Hedge I came home. My mom drove me home and we got ohme at about 3:30. I did my math for today and then played pocket frogs on my tablet for a bit. Now I'm downstairs writing on this blog.

I also realize I have some stuff I should say about my family before I get too into this blog

1. We're not christian. My parents are homeschooling me and Itai(my brother) this year so we can travel

2. Me and Itai are perfectly normal. We're not socially awkward, and we don't have any "learning differences"

and the 3rd one is that no, we aren't allowed to go to school in our pajamas.

My Marvelous Marble Cars

hi!

this post is about my day today-i needed to give it an interesting title though. I did do something with the words "marble cars" in it, so i guess its ok to have that be the interesting title that makes people actually want to look at my blog.

so about today.

today was sunday, which means that I have Midrasha. Midrasha is kind of like a sunday school for jews-it's pretty cool, although it can be boring. It starts at 9:30 in the morning, and ends at 12:30. I do Midrasha with three people i knew previously-but now i know everyone in the class. The people I knew previously are this girl Safara, who is a good friend of mine, our friend Shira, and a boy who goes to my old school, named Phil. In case you were wondering, I used to go to school. When i went to school(all my life before this year) I went to private schools. For the last two years I went to Tehiyah Day school. Thats how I know Phil. Shira also used to go to Tehiyah, but she left before i came.
Safara and I were in the same class for a year, and that's how we became friends.

So today Shira wasn't at Midrasha, so me and safara talked a lot. I also talked to the Mayas(two girls in my Midrasha class whose names are Maya). They're cool. I told Safara about some moral problems that  I saw in a lecture that my mom and I watched-I was invited to join this "justice" group, and they said that we'd be working off of these lectures, so my mom and I decided to watch one of them. We only got 14 minutes in, but it was enough for me to get a bunch of moral problems. Safara and I had a good time with the moral problems, and after Midrasha we walked to her house. Then we spent the rest of the day talking and designing stuff.

Safara is really good at designing stuff. She can design clothes really well, but is also super good at drawing three dimensional things. We made up a new mode of transportation that we haven't completely thought through yet. Thats what the "marble car" in the title is

marble cars are basically bubbles. They have a few layers. The outer layer is a clear plastic bubble, filled with a thin layer of some sort of fluid. Inside that clear bubble is the inner part of the car. It is made of metal, with a weighted bottom. This means that the marble car can roll without wheels-which i think is cool. we haven't exactly figured out how they roll, but we will.

So that's pretty much been my day so far-right now my little brother Itai has his friend Daniel over to build a vehicle powered by a mousetrap. Yep

so thats my day...
